Republican Erupts on House Floor
During budget hearings in the Missouri House, Rep. Jeff Roorda, D-Barnhart, criticized Republican-sponsored budget amendments for using “revisionist history” in remembering the timeline of the budget process. Rep. Tim Jones (R) of Eureka exploded, accusing Roorda of avoiding a vote the day before. Roorda had missed vote to attend the funeral of his friend James Hagler, brother of Missouri’s agriculture director Jon Hagler. “We all miss votes up here to take the time to remember loved ones that are lost. I don’t apologize for that,” Roorda said. Jones did not give a verbal apology on the House floor, rather opted to apologize via his Twitter account.
